Full Moon in Taurus: what to release on October 26

· VESTA Editorial · 3 min read

The Moon is full at 12:12 a.m. Eastern on Monday, October 26, 2026. On the West Coast that is 9:12 p.m. on Sunday the 25th; in London, 4:12 a.m. Monday. The Moon sits at 2°46′ Taurus, directly opposite the Sun at the start of Scorpio.

A full moon is the high tide of the lunar month. Whatever began at the new moon (for this cycle, the Libra new moon on October 10) has had two weeks to grow, and now it shows itself.

The sky around it

This is a full moon with weight to it.

  • It squares Pluto almost exactly. Pluto sits at 3° Aquarius, a quarter of the way round from both the Sun and the Moon. Pluto is about power and control and the things we hold on to too tightly. Under this square, small questions about money or comfort can feel bigger than they are.
  • Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is retrograde, and has just slipped back into Libra. The Taurus questions are the ones about value: what you pay for, what you keep, what you think you deserve. With Venus moving backward, the answers are about what you already have, not what you could buy next.
  • Mercury turned retrograde two days earlier, on October 24 in Scorpio. Messages are slower and second thoughts are common. Good for reflection; less good for sending the big email at midnight.

The axis: what is mine and what is ours

Taurus and Scorpio sit opposite each other. Taurus is what you own, earn and enjoy on your own terms. Scorpio is what you share: intimacy, joint money, trust. A full moon across this axis tends to bring up questions like:

  • Am I holding on to this because I love it, or because letting go feels unsafe?
  • What am I paying for, in money or in energy, that I no longer value?
  • Where does my security depend on someone else, and how do I feel about that?

The ritual: a full-moon release

Keep it simple. You need paper, a pen and twenty quiet minutes, any time on the evening of October 25 or the night of the 26th.

  1. Take out the paper from your new-moon ritual if you did one, and read it.
  2. On a fresh page, write down what has run its course. One habit, one expense, one grudge, one belief about what you can or cannot have. Be specific.
  3. Read the list aloud once.
  4. Tear the page into small pieces and throw it away, or bury it in a plant pot. Then wash your hands.
  5. Go to bed early. Taurus is a body sign; a warm bath, good food and real sleep are part of the ritual, not a reward after it.

What to do this week

  • Look at one recurring cost. A subscription, a standing commitment, a weekly favour. Keep it or end it on purpose.
  • Let one argument go unfinished. The Pluto square can make it feel urgent to win. It is not.
  • Enjoy something you already own. With Venus retrograde, the most valuable thing is often the one you stopped noticing.

What to avoid

Do not make big financial decisions in the heat of the night. Do not test someone to see if they will stay. And do not mistake the intensity of this full moon for a deadline: you can decide slowly. Mercury and Venus both turn direct in mid-November, and that is a better time to sign, buy or commit.
